Heavy Weights

Training today was BEAUTIFUL. It is winter days like these that I love to live in the South. Sunny, mid 60's, perfect! The ring was just the perfect tack so that I could feel a good grip on all four turns. On days like today when Derek is gone with his team, I am happy when I find the "zone" and get quality throws in. Todays throws went well, short heavy for the first time in two weeks. I hit it pretty hard, 10 throws with the 25 on a half wire (best of 75 feet, PB), 10 throws with the 20 on a half wire (best of 82.5 feet, new PB!) and 6 throws with the 18 on a short wire (best of 88 feet). Can you say TIRED! Often when I throw alone, I turn into a endurance thrower, not taking much break in between throws. I can certainty say that was the case today, because my last six throws it felt like I was hanging on for dear life. About midway through my practice I hear screaming and beeping, to see my soccer team in the bus headed to their game, arms hanging out of the window and calls of joy to see Coach Yush in action. LOL. Taking my cue I unleashed my new PB with the half wire 20lb. The kids were SO excited that they got to see me do my "spinning thing" at the track. They played hard today (as always) but a sleepy first two minutes resulted in two quick goals from the other team. That obviously got my kids attention because they played the next 58 minutes with so much heart it made me proud! They held "Holy Ghost" to 2 goals for the entire game. Onto the tournament next weekend, I foresee an upset in the near future from my tenacious Knights!

Jumping on the band wagon.....

Do you really care about my life and training? Well... here it goes! I'm ready to blog with the best of them. I've been inspired by Walter's blog and am ready to share stories from work, my trials and tribulations of training, high points and lows, my life and beyond with you. Don't be surprised if I brag about my husband frequently, laud over my doggies, or divulge about my gardening in addition to updates on my training and throwing! Enjoy and thanks for the support!
